Philip Pithyou
Sergeant, Ethnic Liaison Coordinator, Wellington Police District
New Zealand Police has developed a strategy to guide the way we work to meet the safety needs of our diverse ethnic communities. The strategy sets out how police work closely with community members and other agencies to reduce crime and fear of victimisation in ethnic communities.
New Zealand Police are responsible for making sure New Zealand is a safe place to live and that everyone obeys the laws of this country. Police are trained to help and protect everyone in New Zealand. Police work with many community groups, ethnic groups and government agencies to help make New Zealand a safe place to live, work and study.
We are most grateful to have Sergent Philp Pithyou, the Ethic Liaison Coordinator of the Wellington Police District, to be one of our speakers at our conference relating to mental health and well-being.
